Alone Haha. This thai horror flick titled Alone. Describes me on a saturday night. triggering Mr Ng HS | Saturday, July 21, 2007
If I were Harry Potter... ![]() I'd shout *waves wand* "End this movie right now!" Yeah. I'd actually star in a movie and hope nobody sees it. It was that bad. First of all, you must realise I am not the biggest Potter fan. In fact, I'm not a Potter fan at all. I've never seen a Potter movie (other than bits and pieces on tv), nor have I read a Potter book. So anyway when the movie was out, Princess P wanted to see it and I thought ok, this is when we found out if he dies right. So why not. Stupid me. This is just a movie about the book published. The latest book (released today) is the one where we find out if he dies. So I don't know if it's my subconscious mind telling me how shitty it is and how uninterested I should be, but I didn't really understand what was happening soon after it started. I fell asleep again and again. I had imagined a Potter movie to be full of computer effects and stuff. But all I saw was people talking and talking. Talking and talking. Yak yak yak Harry Potter teaches the noobs how to use magic. Not really amusing. But at least not talking and talking. Harry Potter kissses the girl. Also dunnoe why and how the lust came about. There was a mistletoe above them, but still. Anyway that scene I was awake. Heng ah. Then later on, yakitty yak yak yak. Chitty chat chat chat. Fight scene with the enemies. Lame. Talk talk talk *dozes off* Ending. Nothing special. Out of all the Potter movies, I must have watched the worst one. Suddenly I wished I had seen the earlier ones where they were playing around and learning how to cast spells etc. They do look cuter when young. Harry and Ron not cute liao. But we can see Hermoine is getting prettier. ![]() Of course Harry knows that. Sigh. Well at least the seats were comfortable! triggering Mr Ng HS | Wednesday, July 18, 2007
Week 4 liao.
The desserts are coming on BACKWARDS liao. When the push comes to shove, the strong stands out from the weak. I am the strong. Although I think it's more apt that I am the tired strong. Everyday wake 6am. Song man. Can't wait for national day week because you know lah, I'm so patriotic and all. Oh plus it's just a 2-day week for me, but that's nothing compared to undying love and passion for my country. =D monday: blah blah tuesday: bloo bloo wed: half day swee swee watch concert thurs: stand up for singapore friday: holiday yeah man triggering Mr Ng HS | Sunday, July 15, 2007
Have this urge to play badminton. Tsk. Supposed to buy a new pair of court shoes with my bonu$. No time lah. So many things to do. Plan, look for materials etc. Transformers: just gonna blog bout things i complained to everyone. I am actually disgusted by the fact that everyone's favourite character inside the show is bumblebee. -_- I guess Michael Bay or the scriptwriters knew this would create a positive reaction from the kids and / or the viewers. All the other transformers are 'carefare'! So Bumblebee monopolised so much of the air time. No other choice for fav character liao. Optimus Prime? Do nothing wan. Megatron? Also do nothing wan. Transform into aeroplane wtf. i prefer the dua dua gun. Starscream: not red in colour. never talk much also. he supposed to hate megatron and can't wait to take over his position as leader. fighting scenes: very blur for me. humour: quite funny lah, sometimes like lame-funny, when the autobots hiding outside the guy's house. Ending: wah lau eh. damn off. if there ever was a climax building up, it was definitely anti climax to the max. Dim Sum Dollies Watched it on 12th july. Damn funny! It's about the history of Singapore, but of course it's not accurate lah. They also insert local stuff and sexual innuendoes into the script. stuff like: Sang Nila Utama was on the island and suddenly, an ERA agent came over to hard sell the island to him. "wah you know ah this island got sun got sand got sea! Nowadays people look at places they only want one thing that is location location location! This island is in the middle of many places...... Want or not?" The jap kamikaze soldiers were wusses and ejected from their planes. "Oh so you all had premature ejaculation lah!" -_- ![]() Liu Kang “Building Site/Samsui Women”, 1951 Selena's character: "When they told me about this place, they said I could come and be SOME SWEE woman woh~" HAHA! Some of the songs were pretty nice too. Ending was a little abrupt I feel. Or maybe it's 'cos I didn't want it to end. Our seats were not bad. Pretty front, but at left side. BUT there is this guy who's diagonally in front of me who's sitting up really straight, so it wasn't a clear sight for me. SOmetimes I hate these type of people. You have ample leg room. Why can't you just slide yourselves a little forward so that you don't have your head and neck above your seat and block everyone (or just me) behind you? The person in front of you isn't tall. But sometimes I think: Hey he paid for his ticket. He's entitled to sit in whatever way he wants. I, on the other hand, make sure my head doesn't exceed the top of the seat by much. It's also why I prefer to sit at the last row during the movies, so I don't have to worry about blocking people behind. Anyway, I know if I sat up straight to counter the guy, people behind me would be blocked as well. So that ruined my evening a teeeeeny lil bit. I think the solution for this is to build seats such that the row behind is at a much higher level (slope) than the one in front. Dim Sum Dollies is so funny! Heard they will have re-runs in Jan 08. You might wanna catch it! triggering Mr Ng HS | Saturday, July 14, 2007
Have always wanted to blog about this, but as you know, I is a busy man.
The New 7 Wonders of the world. The Great Wall, China ![]() The Great Wall of China was built to link existing fortifications into a united defense system and better keep invading Mongol tribes out of China. It is the largest man-made monument ever to have been built and it is disputed that it is the only one visible from space. Many thousands of people must have given their lives to build this colossal construction Statue of Christ Redeemer, Brazil ![]() ![]() This statue of Jesus stands some 38 meters tall, atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro. Designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski, it is one of the world’s best-known monuments. The statue took five years to construct and was inaugurated on October 12, 1931. It has become a symbol of the city and of the warmth of the Brazilian people, who receive visitors with open arms. Petra, Jordan ![]() On the edge of the Arabian Desert, Petra was the glittering capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV (9 B.C. to 40 A.D.). Masters of water technology, the Nabataeans provided their city with great tunnel constructions and water chambers. A theater, modelled on Greek-Roman prototypes, had space for an audience of 4,000. Today, the Palace Tombs of Petra, with the 42-meter-high Hellenistic temple facade on the El-Deir Monastery, are impressive examples of Middle Eastern culture. Chichén Itzá, Mexico ![]() Chichén Itzá, the most famous Mayan temple city, served as the political and economic center of the Mayan civilization. Its various structures - the pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Mool, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars, and the Playing Field of the Prisoners – can still be seen today and are demonstrative of an extraordinary commitment to architectural space and composition. The pyramid itself was the last, and arguably the greatest, of all Mayan temples. The Roman Colosseum, Italy ![]() This great amphitheater in the centre of Rome was built to give favors to successful legionnaires and to celebrate the glory of the Roman Empire. Its design concept still stands to this very day, and virtually every modern sports stadium some 2,000 years later still bears the irresistible imprint of the Colosseum's original design. Today, through films and history books, we are even more aware of the cruel fights and games that took place in this arena, all for the joy of the spectators. The Taj Mahal, India ![]() This immense mausoleum was built on the orders of Shah Jahan, the fifth Muslim Mogul emperor, to honor the memory of his beloved late wife. Built out of white marble and standing in formally laid-out walled gardens, the Taj Mahal is regarded as the most perfect jewel of Muslim art in India. The emperor was consequently jailed and, it is said, could then only see the Taj Mahal out of his small cell window. And lastly, my personal favourite: Machu Picchu, Peru ![]() In the 15th century, the Incan Emperor Pachacútec built a city in the clouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu ("old mountain"). This extraordinary settlement lies halfway up the Andes Plateau, deep in the Amazon jungle and above the Urubamba River. It was probably abandoned by the Incas because of a smallpox outbreak and, after the Spanish defeated the Incan Empire, the city remained 'lost' for over three centuries. It was rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911. Some of you wondering what about the pyramids? It's now an honourary member lor. "After careful consideration, the New7Wonders Foundation designates the Pyramids of Giza—the only remaining of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World—as an Honorary New7Wonders Candidate. Therefore, you cannot vote for the Pyramids of Giza as part of the New7Wonders campaign. This decision has also taken into account the views of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. The Pyramids are a shared world culture and heritage site and deserve their special status as the only Honorary Candidate of the New7Wonders of the World campaign. " Sources: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-07/08/content_6344168.htm http://www.new7wonders.com/index.php?id=633 >> check out other entries that lost out. The results stem from a very unscientific poll though. Nothing prevented repeateded voting. So for example, skeptics would tell you that you don't have to guess how the great wall was in there. Anyway, I'm so blown away by all these buildings and creations. Life is so amazing. I'm indeed very fortunate to have been to the great wall and sydney opera house (outsted contender). There are so many beautiful places in the world. I wanna get rich so that I can travel all over the world some day. Or maybe every couple of years. triggering Mr Ng HS | Wednesday, July 11, 2007

Edited at 1.50am.
For many reasons which you people shouldn't ask, I wouldn't be logging on msn for some time. A hiatus. Don't sms me why or what or when or who or which or how or whatever. I wouldn't waste my smses. =x Hopefully I will be more productive doing my work now. Been busy. Caught up with school stuff. Will still try to blog though. Not as if any of this is worth reading, but yah. Oh and I thinking of buying a nintendo WII. I dunnoe why. I'm not really a sucker for games. I just like the idea. Haha. Maybe in 2 months' time? Will see if I have money then. Although pay just increased =x. Saving for the future is very important you know.. *nags* K. Don't think so much. Kinda sad over certain things, but yet kinda feel I should let it pass, so I wouldn't think about it now. 2am, better go sleep. Tomorrow gotta start marking many many scripts. waking in 4 hours... triggering Mr Ng HS | Hey.. I can't get anything done. You're not returning my smses. I just miss you so much. I promise I wouldn't enforce my expectations upon you. What I do is my own choice, regardless if I did it for you or not. You can make your own choices. I promise I wouldn't get upset or jealous so easily anymore. triggering Mr Ng HS | Thursday, July 05, 2007
![]() Bruce Willis still damn SEY as ever. In recent years he's displaying his bald manly macho side. He looks good botak I must say. Die Hard 4.0 Story's about hackers hacking into the US government. They killed every other neighbourhood hacker, other than this young guy Farrel. John McLane (Bruce) is assigned to protect him. Of course many scenes are very HAO2 SIAO2. I think it's either hokkien or teo chew. My father used to always say this, and my mum will scold him and say don't teach the kids such phrases. Dunnoe what it specifically means word for word. But hao2 siao2 means not realistic, 'WHERE GOT SUCH THING WAN' expression. Like when people shoot and shoot, none of the bullets will hit bruce willis that kinda thing. Not bad lah. Many fast action scenes. Caught it at the new cathay cineplex at AMK hub. Wed night $6.50 only. Plus booking fee. $13.50. The seats also have a lot of leg space. Comfortable. triggering Mr Ng HS | Tuesday, July 03, 2007

Greetings old farts,
It's youth day tomorrow. I'm like, so totally a youth, so it's a holiday for me. I'm thinking of signing up for the Sheares Bay run. Only 12km. Well not ONLY only, but compared to the half marathon it's little. The full marathon.. well it will have to wait. One of my goals is to complete that before I hit 30. Hmm, since I'm still a youth, it means I have some years left. Sunday August 26th. ON BOH!?!?!??! http://www.safra.sg/singapore_bay_run.aspx?pageid=1433 triggering Mr Ng HS |
