Just 2 pieces of news today.

First up, certain batches of COMPLETE contact lens solution are contaminated with ralstonia bacteria and are being recalled. It's not a serious form of bacteria, but hey it's still bacteria.

But don't worry, according to them, the bottles in question have the following LOT numbers:

ZB02704
ZB03247
ZB03195

You can check the LOT numbers on the side of the bottle. So if your bottle doesn't have that number, BY RIGHT no need to return lah. if you kiasee then return lor.

Second piece of news:

Civil servants to get 2.2 months year-end bonus!

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Because in 2006 I have only worked a little more than 3.5months (although officially November and December are not over yet), my bonus will be re-calculated.

So, I earn yy dollars a month

yy x 2.2 x (3.5/12)

Still quite substantial!

My 'contract' says I'm eligible for bonus! Yay! Hope I really do get it. The money will come in handy. =)

Princess P is laughing at me

(No need to ask why lah, but for the retarded, it's 'cos the hair drops in an M figure mah.)

Wah lau during my era, centre parting is called centre parting lor. Simi macdonalds. Then if the hair is long you call fries and the hair is messy you call mashed potatoes meh. pui.

My browser suddenly popped up this. Strange, 'cos I've got my popup blocker up and running. Anyway:

*thinks happy thoughts, happy thoughts*

Damn Indonesians might have given us the haze, but they also give us ten2five, a local band.

The music you're hearing is "You" from that band. One of the nicest ballads I've come across. Another one of those songs I can listen for hours on end as the song loops and loops. You can get the mp3 from me (or by any other means you have). I like to spread good music! If you don't like the song, shuddap. Off your speaker.

It's a good song to listen to when you're feeling sad too.

That's what I'm feeling now. Which is why I'm gonna go sleep and dream happy thoughts.

Like 5 more weeks to Hong Kong. =)

Before you read on,

Check out the Dream Academy webpage!

Yes! Princess P and I went to watch The little shop of horrors! Featuring The Dim Sum Dollies and starring Hossan Leong and co.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It's based on the old story, about a plant that lives on human blood. Seymour (Hossan Leong) is an orphan who works in a flower shop. He was brought home from the streets by Mr Mushnik (Sean Warrall), who owns the shop. Seymour is an uneducated man who has nothing. He kinda likes Audrey (Denise Tan), a lady who works at the same shop. Audrey has a boyfriend, a sadistic dentist called Orin, portrayed by Lim Yu Beng. From the musical you realise how wigs can do wonders. =x He was so handsome and suave!

So Seymour is a amateur botanist who comes across this plant and names it Audrey II, after the girl. He finds out that with each drip of human blood Audrey II grows bigger. And as the plant grew bigger, the shop welcomed more business and he soon found himself being interviewed and getting on talk shows and conducting work shops. Ah. He's found fame. Fame comes with a price. The plant (voiced by Electrico's Dave Tan) soon wants more and more blood. Seymour can't satisfy its hunger by merely pricking his fingers, can he? He needs to find new ways to feed Audrey II. And that leads to certain people being "mysteriously gone".

It's not my first time watching a musical. The first musical I went to was Annie. You know the song "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow~~ You're only a day away...."

I don't remember anything about that musical except that line. I was in primary school and my neighbour had an extra ticket so they brought me along. I don't even remember which neighbour. =x

So anyway I really enjoyed this musical. I think it's so tough for them, to be able to act and sing at the same time. Because I got us good seats (hooray for pay!), we had an awesome view of the cast and props. In one scene where Mr Mushnik was indulging in his cigarette, we could even smell the smoke! To me it was a wonderful and entertaining experience. Hmm well I don't really know how to give a critique on acting, but everyone sang well. The costumes were great. Audrey often wore low cut tops. Dim Sum dollies had a variety of clothes. A pity though they didn't appear that much. I counted about 4 full singing acts and some minor parts. But the show wasn't about them, it was mostly about Seymour. Hossan Leong is like a small boy running around. I think he really enjoys what he's doing, and he does it so well. But of course it's not that realistic because he sings in perfect pronunciated english. Haha.

Nice show! Very funny! Makes fun of many things in the local context as well. Worth a watch!

I'll end with a photo! Too bad I couldn't take a pic with Hossan. He left before we could grab him.

I know I very toot lah! I hate my haircut. Worse than army man. But doesn't Princess P look so beautiful? =D

Oh yah, the dim sum dollies look nice also. =x

I met with a car accident today.

Well before you go OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY, let me say that I'm fine (and Princess P too) and the car only suffered minor paint scratches above the frontal left wheel.

I was trying to get to Beach Road. For those of you still to know, I'm really bad with directions. So anyway there was I driving along whatever name that road is.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I was on lane 1, ie the first lane from the right.

Busy reading the map and finding out my bearings, I drove straight. You can see from the above arrow that I cannot do that. On that lane you can only turn right.

So there was a taxi on lane 2. He was turning right. I, on lane 1, was going straight. We brushed against each other before he quickly pressed his horn and swerved away.

He then parked at the front. Within that split second I was thinking do I have to park too for a 'confrontation'? I was slightly panicking a wee bit because I don't really know the extent of the damage delivered to our cars. There was a small brushing noise which didn't sound horrible, but still set my pulse running. In my mind I was thinking what am I supposed to do, I don't know how to negotiate under such circumstances.

So anyway he walked out first and when I stepped out, he said, "You're supposed to turn right, right?" He was a middle aged Chinese who spoke pretty fluent English.

I was immediately apologetic. I said yes sorry I was driving and got lost and I lost concentration. He asked where I was going and I replied and then he said I overshot. Then we went to check the damage of the 'brushing past'. The paint above my frontal left wheel was marked with black marks. His right car's side had the merest of paint removed too. I asked him if his car is ok and he said it's ok. He asked what about mine. I said it's ok I think a paint job can settle it. (To be done by my Mum, if she decides to do it =x . Yet to tell her as she's asleep when I got back.)
Then he finalised by saying something like ok then no big deal and be careful next time. I said ok thanks and gave him a pat on his back =x .

And we parted.

All these happened while there were crowds at both sides of the road, waiting for the green man to come on!!! When I got off the car I saw EVERYONE looking at us!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Yes I've drawn the people as cute little purple dots.

So if anyone snapped a picture and put it on STOMP or something, please tell me!
I didn't get the taxi driver's name or car number. Sorry! And thanks for being nice!
I know in the end the car accident was no big deal. But still, it's an accident, and it could have been much worse! It was probably due to the fact that the taxi and my car were first in line in our respective lanes and didn't have time to accelerate or we'd have been travelling at greater speeds and the impact would have been greater. I'm thankful for the taxi driver's quick reflexes in swerving away instead of hitting me right on too.

It could have been much worse!
But everything's ok! So I should stop shouting now.

~End of report~
Boring words by Trent 'cos he wanna shower asap.
Super awesome inaccurate and not drawn to scale pictures by Trent 'cos he fails art everytime, ok? Happy?

Is this how you hold your pen? Well, I was at a recent library talk and they told us that you can't just trust any websites, but I did a 'lil search and this seems to be the 'proper' way. Coupled with the fact that I've been brought up learning this method and having the mentality that every other method is 'wrong', I'm biased to think that this method IS the proper way.

So anyway that's how I hold the pen. I'm not saying there is a best way or a way which could have been backed up by scientific research that it's the most efficient or whatever. There is no best way. You hold your pen whichever way you're comfortable with. This 'proper' way I've mentioned (however true it may be) doesn't guarantee neat handwriting. My handwriting is terrible! It's just one of the things I learnt. Like your chopsticks shouldn't 'cross'. Not as if we can't use them effectively if they do. Or that you must hold your spoon on your right hand and your fork on your left hand.

I've never really noticed how people hold their pens and pencils. I'll keep a look out on my friends and colleagues from now on, buahahaha.

Oops. Shower time.

Note: That's not my hand in the picture above. For the record, I'm right handed, and my fingernails are never that disgustingly long.
