HAIL LKY!!

The other day we were reading chapters from the LKY memoir, and I feel so ignorant about this great man. Let me just share some things which many of you probably know already.. =x

- His ang moh name is Harry. Harry Lee.
- He leapfrogged Primary 2.
- He came first in school to win a place in RI.
- Claims he was not very hardworking, nor was he very attentive.
- Still usually among the top 3 without much effort.
- His form master wrote "Harry Lee Kuan Yew is a determined worked for a place of distinction. He is likely to attain a high position in life."
- Top among all students in Singapore and Malaya.
- Things he did in school: Scouts, cricket, tennis, swimming, debating.
- Caned once by principal 'cos he was late 3 times in a term.
- First met his future wife Kwa Geok Choo in RI. Kwa was the only girl in an all boy's school.
- He came in 2nd place to kwa for a few subjects in Raffles College.
- He was bullied by seniors in Raffles College. Like crawling on the floor pushing a marble with his nose.
- He had to stay in hostel and didn't like the institutional food.
