War of the Worlds

Sometimes I'm thankful for being ignorant. You all should know this movie, this summer blockbuster of 2005, adapted from a book. Which I totally have no idea of of course.

If you know me I wouldn't say anything much about the plot because I hate spoilers but for the super duper paranoid people like me, here you go... And with the warning I'll talk abit about the plot, nothing you wouldn't know if you went to the official site or watch some promo features..

If you intend to watch it, just skip this entry altogether, or as a guide scroll down to after the 2nd picture, where it says end of spoilers. But if you don't intend to watch this scifi horror film (as speilberg labels), then you may go on and bore yourself further..

WARNING: SPOILERS

As we all watched the trailers a few months back, we only knew that there was gonna be a war of the worlds. Spielberg and gang's trailer obviously wanted to touch on your taste buds but not give a single clue away. And on tuesday night I thought, hey, let's watch this movie right when it opens (wednesday).

We were 10minutes late! Because Princess P's best friend was late and also we kinda misplaced the tickets at a shop and the shopkeeper returned it to us just as I was trying to plead with the salesgirl behind the ticket counter to let us in. So we missed a bit of the initial narration.

And the movie started proper, with Tom Cruise's character Ray meeting his ex-wife to babysit his 2 children, Robbie and Rachel (Dakota Fanning). That's when all the thunderstorms arrived. And about 20minutes into the show, the aliens emerged! I never expected to see the aliens so quickly. And I never thought they would be tripods ie big tall oval flat shaped with 3 long legs. But when I searched images with the said title I found that they're all over the place. Haha. And I'm thankful that whenever I watch a film, I don't know what's gonna happen (except that HG2G show).

Each scene is either emotionally or psychologically packed with goodies that will keep you at the edge of your seat, although Princess P yawned once and I immediately turned to stare at her. HAHA. I love this kinda armageddon oh no the world is coming to an end let me save my teddy bears sorta movies mah. And Dakota Fanning is at her Hide and Seek self portraying a very scared little girl.

So everything was top notch so far, but here comes the bomber. The ending, blatantly, sucks.

Unless you already know the story, the ending's a total anti-climax of what has been a high octane ride throughout the ~2hour movie.

In conclusion:

Eye-candy: 8/10. There's Tom cruise fine. But where's the female hottie?? Dakota is seriously underaged.

Pace: 9/10. Good. Never felt that it was draggy or too much dialogue, or too much fighting, or too much anything.

Soundtrack: 8/10. What sounds do you expect from such a movie anyway.

Plot: Minus the ending, it deserved a 8/10, because sometimes I feel that the aliens are too stupid, and I wouldn't say them here cos they are super spoilers.

Aliens: As mentioned above. And appearance wise they do look kinda gremlin-ish at times. Definitely not those type in the Sigourney Weaver episodes.

Plot as a whole: 7/10 The ending arghghg the ending!

To watch: during the $7-$8 price range. At $9.50 per pax I'm sure you'll rip off the cinema seats and throw them at the screen.

People who know the story will probably go "You mean you didn't know the story meh?" But I'm glad I didn't. I enjoyed it overall. Yeah!

~End of spoilers~

If you really scrolled down just to miss the spoilers,
good determination!

But... Nothing to read liao lah!

失败的 man。。

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Heard it during the advertisement of 鸡婆俱乐部, channel 8 friday 8pm.

The Swensens debacle.

Swensen's sorry, offers sweetener
WE refer to the letter by Mr Nicholas Tan Wen-Yu, "Fire! But they were told to pay first before leaving" (June 24). .

We have taken a very serious view of this matter and would like to assure Mr Tan and all our customers that in such a situation, our utmost concern would always be the safety and well-being of both our customers as well as our staff. This cannot be compromised.

At the time the evacuation order was made, there was already a queue at the cashier's counter. Diners were then advised that there was an evacuation.

Our managers at that point tried to clear the process of cashiering quickly and were perhaps over-zealous in trying to close as many bills as possible.

In an event of an evacuation, our procedure calls for ceasing all activities immediately and this would include payment settlement. We apologise for the distress caused to Mr Tan and all other customers who might have felt the same.

Our safety procedures, among other standard operating procedures, form part of our managerial staff training.

Nevertheless, a retraining process and a reiteration of customer safety measures is being immediately undertaken and we have made it more comprehensive and added more focus to this aspect.

We will endeavour to continue to provide a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our diners at all times. We have certainly learnt from this experience. The management and staff at Swensen's Plaza Singapura sincerely apologise for the distress caused, and this weekend, would like to extend a waiver of service charge to all customers.

~
Haha. That was the previous weekend by the way. Wow no service charge over the weekend ley. So generous! Anyway I don't think it will affect them much. Will people pick on this issue and not patronise Swensens Plaza Sing? I don't think so.

~
Ate a lot yesterday. Princess P's best friend had a birthday cum farewell gathering to her place. She's going Australia in a week's time. The food was so nice. Long time since I had such yummy finger foods. Satay, fried wanton, popiah, etc. We also baked cookies to bring over. I'll post the pics later on...

It's monday, start of school for the young, start of work for the working, start of a mere monday for the meaningless. Time to watch OC. My vcr could function again.

Penalty shootout

world youth championships (under20)

nigeria vs holland
final score:
1-1 FT
1-1 AET

10-9 to Nigeria

This is the first time I've ever witnessed a penalty shootout (except when I play fifa) where all 11 players from each team have to take the penalty and the score was still level. It was 9-9. So the first player who took the penalty had to take it again. Can you imagine what they were thinking? Must be cursing why they gotta take it again.

Catch the match details here:
http://www.fifa.com/en/comp/WYC2005MatchReport/0,4382,WYC-2005-3-03,00.html
Unbelievable.

~
Went to x-square today with Princess P. We completed Metal Slug with 25 continues each. Hahahahahahahaha. Imagine how much it would have cost us at the arcade. We also played some FPS game which gave me a terrible headache, and after that I taught her how to play winning eleven but she found it boring and took a nap while I played 2 games. And we left. Oh and they have a TAPZ CARD PROMOTION NOW. For every $20 you top up, you get $20 more free. It ends TODAY SUNDAY 26th June 05.

Gentingtingting

Genting Skyway.

Hello I’m back from my 3D2N trip to Genting, my first time there since I was a 7 or 8 year old kid. I shall now attempt to quickly recall and type whatever that comes to mind, mostly in chronological order.

Exchange rate: S$1 = RM$2.265

Warning: You should not read this. Because it kills your brain cells. If I post any pictures, you may choose to alt-f4 because I will post so many it’s gonna take forever for the page to load.

(Ignore dates on photos. Princess P got her system wrong.)
Sunday morning 7am
At Golden Mile Complex. And off we go on the super coach!

Bus Trip.
The jam before the Singapore customs. Then to the Malaysian customs. I took longer than usual to clear because the officer behind the desk talked to me asking me why my book was so blank and devoid of chops. Haha. Onto the highways, and a pit stop at the local food court, where we ate some light breakfast. Continued on and finally I saw GENTING HIGHLANDS at about 1+pm. But that was only the foot of the hill. We still had to go round and round till we reached the summit. Queued up and checked into our hotel.

Amazing thing was I couldn’t fall asleep on the whole friggin bus journey! I went out on Saturday to celebrate Princess P’s best friend’s birthday and was back only at 1am. Packed and went to bed at 2. Because I was so full from that day’s meals (and I didn’t even eat a lot), I had a stomachache at 4am, and then at 5am. People don’t understand that I can’t eat a lot without exercising, because then I will feel super uncomfortable and seemingly bloated. So unbelievably amidst all my pre-trip excitement I went to the gym at 5am that very morning and ran 5k. And I was so tired on the bus. But I just couldn’t fall asleep. There was this old couple behind me talking in dialect, which I don’t understand but still disturbs me, and the sounds coming from the vcd “XXX2-the next level” was keeping me awake. So there I was, too tired to watch the movie, but too distracted to sleep. And I opened my eyes whenever Princess P shuffled herself on her seat. I was so afraid that I’d be too exhausted even before I reached Genting.

But there we were! Finally! After 7 hours! It wasn’t very cold. It wasn’t cold at all. Princess P’s mum said the sun came out today. Throughout the 3d2n stay the temperature was about 15-19 degrees C I think. And I must say that it’s a good experience because I over packed my clothes. Princess P’s mum said sleeping must have different set of comfy pants and shirt lah, there very cold lah etc. But I found it only cooling. There were times where I was cold for awhile but most of the times it was good and sometimes it was even hot (for me only) and I perspired. The casino itself was a little stuffy probably ‘cos of the weekend crowd, although during the 2nd night we were there in the wee hours from 3-7am and it was colder with less people. I will bring so much lesser clothes the next time I go Genting, which I don’t know when because I believe I’ve seen most of it already.

After checking in, it’s time for lunch. My stomach was still suffering from overcrowding so I just took some food from Princess P’s plate. The rest ate like hungry soldiers on the war path. I wish I could eat like that too…

Indoors (day and night at different places)
Approaching 4pm and it’s bling bling time! The relatives showed Princess P and I (first timers) around the small casino at FIRST WORLD HOTEL (where we stayed) and told us how the card works. This casino uses a cash card system instead of the old fashioned token system. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

We bet on MINI DICE, and won RM210. They roll 3 dice and you just gotta bet on which number will come out. I bet on the number 5 and it came out for 5-6 times in a row. And Princess P bet on 2 and all 3 dice were 2 and the odds for that was 10-1, so we won RM$100 on that round alone. She had more luck than me that night. Everyone was talking about how she won so much, forgetting the fact that I contributed too. Haha… boohoo. So we hung out in the casino till 8+ and it was dinner at a seafood restaurant. I felt bad that I seemed to be the only one not eating spicy stuff and Princess P had to remind her mum that, so they ordered a couple of non-chilli dishes. After meal we had to look after the 12 year old cousin and her sister, so we went to play pool and arcade. Pool was only RM$3 per game. Got back, watched some tv, talked a little, played some cards. I remembered we slept around 3am.

10am and we’re up!

View from our room.
Breakfast was porridge. And as mentioned earlier we were full time baby sitters today as the adults all went casino. We started off with a lot of pool, and photo hunt.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Kids will be kids. You know what they wanted for lunch? Popcorn. Damn I didn’t take any pictures. And those corn in a cup. And coke. So we went to the cinema and bought the popcorn (which was on offer) and walked around. We went outdoors to look at the outdoor theme park, and there was a crazy roller coaster ride available (outside of outdoor theme park)!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
You’re in a superman position and it turns abruptly and goes upside down too. The 3 of them were at first afraid, but after I told them how cheap a ride was (RM$10) and how even the cousin passed the minimum height requirement, and how it was gonna be MY treat, they all got pumped up and couldn’t wait to go. I bought the tickets and the 12 year old boy grabbed them and went to the attendant at the queue, and we haven’t even put our stuff in the locker yet! Such was everyone’s enthusiasm and excitement!

So in a brief, that ride really got kick!!!! Especially ‘cos it was so windy and the air gushes in your face as you turn left and ride, up and down.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Clouds? Mist? Cold indeed.

Princess P and I were also relieved in a way because it started raining and it was lucky we didn’t buy tickets for the outdoor theme park. After the ride we decided to go in search of the ktv place. We caught a poster which read how cheap it was, something like RM$9 for 2 hours per pax. We then found out it was not at First World Hotel. It was at Hotel Genting, some distance away. Henceforth we embarked on a Trent goes to ktv trip. It’s just like the movie. We find ourselves in strange land. We followed directions.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.usAsked people. And finally we got there, only to find out that the poster was outdated and the offer has expired. Her sister looked significantly depressed and out of steam, while the small guy was saying how they seem to wander even further from our home hotel. We had some hotdog buns and drinks, and then I suggested taking the cable car, something which the 2 kids have never done in their lives, and something which Princess P and I have only experienced in Sentosa. We didn’t know where the cable car would lead us. The attendant said ‘bus interchange to KL’ but we didn’t know where was that. But the 2way trip was only RM$8 each and off we went!!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
It was really scary at first because we were heading down! But after it went horizontal it got better, not for long again because we all got hit by the altitude change and our ears were all blocked. I got a slight headache and we were all just waiting for the ride to end, but we just couldn’t see the end of it! It was only after about 25mins where we reached the end, which was the bottom of the Genting Highlands. Princess P’s relatives chose the bus route in the tour choice because they were all scared of heights. The bus took about 45mins to reach the top. We got there and walked around, and the little guy was complaining in jest how he wanna go home~~~~~. There was nothing much for us to walk around, but we grew smart and bought lollipops to suck on the ride back so we wouldn’t experience a headache, and it was a success.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
They all took strawberry. Mine's banana caramel.

The 10 of us reunited at dinner. Then us 4 kids again. More pool and photo hunt. The little guy was especially hooked on pool because as we all know, there’s an age limit to pool players in Singapore. Where else can 12 year old boys play pool? So I entertained him throughout, and of course I won every time, and he was really very competitive and kept saying he wouldn’t stop till he beat me. We finally stopped at 1am. We brought them back to shower and did some chit chat, and when they slept, Princess P and I left for the BIGGER casino. It was really 6-7 times bigger than the one we went before. There were even tables with minimum RM$2 bets. Haha like betting for the poor people. Princess P and I didn’t really like the ambience there because it made us feel very ‘small’ and kiddy, because all the people around us seemed to be so big and well dressed and smoked and like characters out of a Zhou Ren Fa movie. We won a little over there. Then we headed back to first world and tried our luck again. We didn’t have the same ‘feeling’ as the night before, but it was also probably because the casino was no longer as crowded (it was almost 6am) and we were tired, and we seem to be betting to go through the motion. We lost more that night. Well in total we both came away with a RM$140 profit, which was terrific because my mummy used to tell me when you go to the casino, it’s actually to see how much you lose. Hahaha. It was a very good experience for both of us. And look at the number of jobs created.
Oh and the first world casino has free drinks. I think I drank about 4-5 cups of milo over those 2 visits.

Got back at 7am, slept, woke at 1130am, packed and ready to check out. Brunch was at starbucks. Cheesecake and chicken lasagne, plus some soya bean coffee.

Pathway.
And we bidded farewell to Genting as we boarded the bus. The movie was “The Medallion” starring Jackie Chan but I was too tired to watch, though I couldn’t really fall asleep for long either, waking up every now and then. The usual pitstops, and then I was home by 8pm.

That’s more than 60hours I’ve spent with Princess P straight. We’ve never parted except the times we go to the toilet. I love her so much. This trip has been highly beneficial for both of us because we got to know each other even more. There were a couple of times there were some misunderstandings, but we were beside each other all the time and we fully enjoyed ourselves.

Just realised it's not possible to put over 90photos on this stinky page. So I'll upload it in an album....

Awwww I miss all of you toooooo....

*receives numerous gifts and presents and ang baos from everyone*

Yup I'm safe and back from Genting. On tuesday night actually. Been doing bits and pieces of my soon-to-be gargantuan recollection of my trip, but before that's done, below's a forum article from today's paper. You all heard about the fire evacuation from Plaza Singapura right.

Friday • June 24, 2005

I REFER to the small fire that broke out at Plaza Singapura on Tuesday night. While it was rather scary being at the scene, I thought the building's staff and management reacted quickly and professionally.

However, I'd like to draw attention to a dangerous and irresponsible act by one tenant.

A friend and I were having dinner at the Swensen's restaurant when the fire broke out.

Our dinner had only just been served and we had barely started eating, but it was smoking and there were requests on the public address system for everyone to leave immediately.

So, the customers in Swensen's got up to evacuate the site.

At this point, the staff of Swensen's blocked the way and insisted we pay before leaving.

This meant that around 30 people had to wait in line to pay, when the building had already been evacuated and smoke was filling the restaurant!

The manager told us they were given 15 minutes to collect payment before allowing us to leave.

The 15 minutes could easily have cost lives. What if something had exploded? Or if children had passed out from smoke inhalation?

I am disgusted at this ridiculous prioritising of money over life. I hope something can be done to prevent such irresponsible acts from occurring again.

Letter from NICHOLAS TAN WEN-YU

~
Hahahahaha. Swensens Plaza Sing. Down you go. EVEN IF in the protocol it's written 15mins to be given, please exercise common sense and evacuate everyone. A little reputation goes a long way. Let's see if there's a reply to that.

去死

We were having a real fun conversation, and Princess P was imitating the words I typed, and in jest I put a 'go-and-die' emoticon.

Don't know how to save it into a moving gif file to show you guys, so I 'print screen' twice to capture the image.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It's this red alien guy kicking you or showing you the bottom of his foot which reads 去死!

And she got angry. She said nobody asked her to go and die before. I said I didn't. She said I did. I said I didn't. I merely put a stupid emoticon. She said yah the emoticon had the words 去死 on it. I said so what? It's just an emoticon. There are emoticons with a person getting hammered, getting hit on the head with a chair, emoticons with a middle finger, doesn't mean we do all these. I said her friends sometimes tell her to 走开啦 for fun, she said telling her to go away and telling her to go and die are 2 different things. I said I didn't even tell her to go and die. She said I did. And round and round we go.

Sigh. She apologised but her tone is still quite harsh, as if so reluctant. And she said I don't understand at all. Yah I don't. She said she's tired and needs to sleep, and she's off now.

Maybe she's appearing offline. Who knows. Doesn't matter much now anyway. I hope she does something tomorrow to tell me it's all ok. Because I get very affected by these things.

Maybe I'm just getting what I deserve for picking on those small silly things all my life. Ok Jeebus, you can stop now. I know how others feel now. I'm trying and I think I've improved a real lot. I hope tomorrow is a good day. We're supposed to meet in the afternoon to get some stuff for our Genting trip. When things like these happen I'm always not sure if people wanna see me, and if the date is still on...

寂寞的夜晚。。 I hope you have a good night's sleep and sweet dreams, my precious....

Home today

After a few days of work and fun,
I'm back in my incy wincy teeny weeny very simply really cozy. Room.

Finished that 4 day work at Holland V. Will get paid only in a month's time, but I've already spent some of it. I've bought a set of earrings from Tianpo for my mum, and a heart shaped pendant from the same place for Princess P. It had a 50% offer that day. Ssshhhh don't tell my mum that.

Here's the pendant:
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Cannot see ah? When you see her then you see lor.

For the Denise Keller lovers /stalkers, here's one more:

And one more almost identical shot to the one I posted, but it's with Princess P's hp cam:
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
So it's clearer, but I purposely made it smaller. HAHAHAHA!!!

I've also been catching up on my friends' blogs. This particular one where the BLOGGER displays HER past holiday pictures from TWO years ago, in EUROPE. Ok you know who you are.

Makes me jealous with envy. Filled with green. Jealous with green. FIlled with jealousy. Green with envy. Aah. And another GUY studying in UK coming back from Paris. And I think of how another went to Europe last year, and incidentally is her birthday today!

Happy Birthday to you, in this Month of June!!

It's not that I've never been abroad. Let me see.... Other than Malaysia which I don't recall when because I was in Primary 1 or 2, the other places I've been to were USA (with mexico and a few hours Transit at Japan) in P3, Australia in P4, Beijing in P5, and I don't remember any others except an Indonesian badminton training trip when I was in sec 3. Last time parents rich mah, young mah, which means I also young, don't have many memories except the photos in the album.

But hey, I'm going to Genting 3d2n this Sunday, with Princess P and her family and her relatives, total pax including me =10. There're so many things to see! The casino, theme park etc. I told Princess P to save up so we can go maybe Australia in December, to jump with the kangaroos, hug the koalas and eat my favourite nougats. But that's still a long way. I'm really excited about this coming trip, because it's been a long time since I've done anything at all, and although a part of me is getting stressed being with the relatives and even staying in the same room as them, I'm sure it's gonna be an unforgettable trip. And of course when I'm back on Tuesday night I'll be RICH RICH RICH!

I mean. Muahahahahhahahaha!!!!

Oh and I watched HG2G on tuesday night. We've both read the book, and I think because of that we didn't find the movie really captivating. I think it's the first show where I've read the book and THEN I watch the movie. Meaning I know the whole damn story already. Some of the lines and humour are the same too. Some parts aren't exactly the same of course, while some non-important points are brought forward in the movie and etc etc. But it's still a good experience watching the characters appear on screen, and putting a picture to the story you're read.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Oh I forgot to take my pill! Shall end this here anyway. Then I'll play some stupid computer game and then head to the gym again.

Pictures.

Because that bloody data cable is damn bloody expensive, I've been taking pics with my camera and transfer them to my computer. I'll just show a few.

Watermelon with vanilla ice cream. Not as nice as the mango though.

The colourful cup (previous entry) was actually that from the food court. I got it mixed up.

The cat asked me to take a picture of it. So I did lor.

But the real money shot of all is.... lo and behold...........

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Denise Keller and Fiona Xie.

Boohoo I know lah not very clear lah.

We wanted to take pictures while they were filming but this big sized malay man standing beside the camera man turned around and gestured a 'no'. I thought huh cannot even take photos of artistes wan meh.. Then when the filming stopped, he turned over and gave us a thumbs up sign, and signalled for us to come over! Princess P went in front and the man told her to 'come nearer!' Hahaha! So they smiled and posed for her, then for me, and seemingly the floodgates opened and a few more passerbys whipped out their phones and they posed for all of them.

Later on while at the taxi stand.. due to a super unbelievable incident, listen to this: a japanese woman with a baby in pram and a 4-5 year old daughter were trying to board a taxi. The woman went to grab the groceries and walked to the taxi's boot. Apparently she told the elder daughter to look after the pram and the baby. Due to a slight incline in the stand, and the position of the pram, the baby somehow slid out of the pram and fell onto the road! He landed on his knees first before hitting his head on the vehicle's tyre. Imagine the worst if he had hit the hard asphalt instead. The woman screamed in horror and also scolded the elder sister. The sister just held her head in her hands in a face of tremendous guilt. Then the woman told her to look after the baby while she settled the boot or something. Princess P rushed into the taxi and held the baby in her arms and rubbed his forehead, which was already blue black and bruised. The sister was just in shock. Princess P said while inside the taxi driver said the woman shouldn't have done that. Indeed she shouldn't. I was saying it could have been a lot worse, and I hope the husband doesn't scold or beat up the wife or blame the elder sister. Let's hope the baby's ok.

Well my story was that while Princess P was in the taxi, Fiona Xie came to the taxi stand! I was explaining the baby's fall to this angmoh uncle and she was turning and listening. Fiona Xie was listening to me. OMG! zzzzzz. hahahaha! Wanted to talk to her and ask her for a photo, but obviously everyone was concentrating on the baby. When Princess P came out of the taxi, she didn't know Fiona Xie was standing right behind her. She turned and looked at me first, and because I was behind Fiona I quickly pointed at her from her back and Princess P got another shock hahaha! Too bad the taxis came fast and she was gone and we didn't get another chance to take photos with her.

Actually, what's the big deal with taking photos of celebrities. Oh yah, they're celebrities. There I answered it myself.

First Day At work

Hey! I'm back from my first day of work, ever.
Location is at Holland Village. For more details, if you pass by that area just give me a call and I'll tell you where to find me, and Princess P of course.

Nothing much. Just bought a stupid data cable so I can transfer phone images captured from my camera.

Drank a delicious mango float. With jelly, sago ice cream etc. Forgot to take a pic before we drank it. But the cup's really cute. So here's my artistic take on this:

Top down.

We also saw policemen patrolling with dogs. We don't know what's happening ley. These police vehicles together with the K-9 team just parked at the road side and 2 groups armed men walked for some time and got back in the cars and left. Is this the patrolling we're talking about? I overheard and indian lady saying they're a joke. She mentioned that the forces in Bangledesh (or some place I can't remember) were much more impressive, unlike these that seem to be able to be blown away easily.

Hi everyone,

My name is Trent. I'm your host for today. The topic for today is...

"Uncover the secret within me."

You? No. I mean, me. I was more or less coerced to see a doctor on tuesday night.

Argh. I don't even know how to start. But doctor says if can let your friends know about it, you will feel more comfortable and relaxed.

So... what better way then to put it on this kinky blog, where all my friends (and strangers) can read and know what's happening.

Argh. Ok I really don't know how to start. The next sentence you read might come as a sudden tremor, or perhaps if you think you know me well, it's merely a confirmation of your latest suspicisons.

Your good friend here, IE me me me, has been told by the doctor that he has anxiety disorder.

I wasn't diagnosed. We just sat there and I answered many of his questions. He asked if I lost weight and checked my blood pressure and heartbeat and the usual stuff. And all was ok. Then he asked if there was anything I went through, haha as if some event totally shell shocked me or something. He also asked if there was anything he wanna tell me. Uncle and my mum said they will leave the room. I said there's no need. There were 2 moments in the room when I felt like crying. I think it was because I got too emotional. The second time, I was really fighting hard to control the tears from coming out. Only the doctor was facing me, but I doubt he'd have noticed. He's so cute. He's a doctor, but he's talking to me a like a counsellor, or psychologist, or therapist. We spent 40minutes in the room. Mum said he's a dedicated doctor, because he was so patient talking to me, about cognitive stuff? Feelings thoughts behaviour etc. And told me to have more confidence in myself. He also said I can talk to my parents. Yah right.

Lost? Ok it's because I sweat too much and too easily. Not only when it's hot or when I make some small movements, but also when there are people, or when I have to talk. Some of you might not notice, I say it's 'cos I 'm comfortable with you and know you for a long time. Some of you will then say "wah then when you talk to me you sweat, you not comfortable with me lah?" I don't know I can't help it ok. Doctor said it's not a matter of will power, though thinking about something else might help. I think of Princess P. Still don't get it? I'm a super low confident being. It somehow contradicts. Like when I have so much stuff to say be it in tutorials, discussions, or projects, but most of the time when I speak I find myself sweating profusely, nevertheless the cold 20degrees air con environment I'm in. So it deters me. Doctor says some people are just not good in public speaking. Some people just sweat more than others. It is how I react that's more important. He said why do I care if people are looking at me if I'm sweating. I said because society is about people around you. He said they look at me might not be because I'm sweating, or if I'm on a bus with sticky sweaty arms and they touch me and they give me that yuck face or move away from me, doesn't mean they don't like me.

Ah ha yah right.

He said he can give me pills which will make me not sweat so much but it will dry up my lips and he doesn't see that as solution. He wants me to be able to control my feelings and attitude towards things and gave me some xanax pills, They're anti-anxiety pills. Uncle was so stupid. He asked if they're anti-depression pills. Hello?~??~~! Do I look like I need prozac?? But still I can't help but feel a bit of the stigma of being labelled as someone with anxiety disorder, although like I said there wasn't a diagnosis. He was just probably trying to explain I worry too much, about every thing. Which now that I come to think about it, is true.

Being the ever super paranoid me, I immediately suspected that the pills were merely placebo pops. Like you pop them in and you think that 'oh i'm recovering yeah i feel good' but they're actually of non-medicinal value and just toy with your brain and mind telling you're ok, which inadvertently boosts your confidence whatever. There's no way I can tell if they're true or fake of course, and I believe they're real, not that it means they will work. I have to take twice daily after food for 14 days. Doctor said I can keep a diary noting down the times where I sweat too much with no reasonable excuse and to show him after 2 weeks, if I want to. If I feel comfortable or for no reason I don't want to see him again, it's also fine.

It's a viscious cycle. Once I start to sweat, I get more anxious and nervous, and I sweat more, and I become more self-conscious and everything, and I sweat more, and it goes on. So doctor wants me to calm myself down.

I did a check on Xanax.
is an anti anxiety agent...Used primarily for short-term relief of mild to moderate anxiety and nervous tension..

Well that's the end of today's talk show. I like this kinda talk show because I'm the only one talking. In my mind that is. Thanks for reading till here. At the end of the doctor trip I felt really alone. I felt this label stuck to my head. I felt that I was so different from people. And that I want to be the same. You guys probably are saying I'm the same. You all don't understand... I hope you all will someday.

It's my 2nd day today swallowing that little pill. =)

Things I did.

I'm actually waiting for Skaozer to come over so we can go over to another friend's place for some xbox session. So I'll type fast here.

Madagascar.

Saw this movie last friday because Princess P and I had 2 free shaw tickets from the seminar we attended last week. We had no idea what the movie was about, and because we wanted to make the free tics worth to the fullest, we thought of watching this animation on friday night.
2 x $9.50 = jackpot baby!

But the shaw cinemas at lot 1 only charges $7 each ley. Princess P felt that the free tickets were 'wasted'. Haaha.

The movie was really funny. More funny if you know the people behind the voices.

About how these zoo animals due to a series of cute events find themselves stranded on a desert island, and they're not alone. ;)

I'll blog more about this later.

On saturday Princess P and I went to timezone at causeway point.

I don't know where this picture was taken. I just took it off the web.
And we played some of those kiddy arcade games where you collect tickets. Can you imagine I still thought that the tickets would be collected in hard copy, and manually counted?!?!? You too?!?!? Wah you caveman. The timezone card has a digital meter which will denote how many tickets inside liao lah! Anyway we redeemed a set of colour pencils for TT, the 4 year old girl in her house.

It was really fun. It made me feel so young again. Haha. And it was a saturday, which meant there were many parents with their kids. But we just blended in the crowd. Princess P and I. =)

Yesterday (monday). Supposed to meet Princess P but due to some miscommunication and some disputes we didn't. And I was really depressed. At 7pm I drove to Lot 1 to play xbox.
http://www.x-square.com.sg. $3 per hour per console. Which means the more people play, the less they pay. Wah sounds like a good motto hor. Played http://games.teamxbox.com/xbox/1037/FIFA-STREET for 110minutes and got dizzy liao. Haha lousy vertigo motion sickness wuss is me. But it was fun, even though by myself. The attendant gave me a corner seat (must be see I lonely and ke lian) and it was really cosy, with the comfy sofa and blasting speakers.

The objective of the game is to beat your opponents in a 4-4 street soccer game, with style. So you do fanciful footwork and dribble past them and score! I think it will get boring after a few times though... But it was fun by myself...
