Metaphysical beings.

Once again I feel the need to talk about a certain religious issue that seems to affect me too much than what my emotional storage can hold. I'll try to be tactful but no offense meant, boys and girls.

Woke up by a call earlier from a friend. I looked at my handphone and the caller id displays a certain friend's name, whom I shall call El.

Argh as eerie as it sounds, as I typed that last line he called again! O.o

So El called twice and I didn't pick up. Because as far as I know, El is an evangelist, which is defined by me as preaching a certain religion, known as Christianity. If you have read some of the posts about him, or this religious issue, I get very emotionally strained when I'm in contact with these people. They keep making me think of ways to reject them, and I've do it without hurting their feelings. Just to remind you El cried at the end of our 1 hour talk last year about this topic. 'Cos I didn't wanna do a little prayer with him and say Amen. Or something like that.

I hate to say this again and again, but I'm evading from El as much as I can. It helps that I'm super observant and well, he's not. So I notice him from afar and opt for another route, much like how primary school kids avoid teachers. It hurts when I think about how our friendship is worsening due to this, but come to think of it, when I talk to him I feel so tense and everything he talks to eventually leads to Christianity and he'll subsequently try to convert me. Sometimes (without offense) I tell myself a friend like this is not a friend at all to begin with. I don't even feel comfortable talking to him.

Ok so I was saying 2 missed calls and a further sms from El, which read:

Trent, I have something very important to say to you. I hope you would let me do so over phone or better yet, in person. It concerns me and you. Nothing else. Please let me know when would be a convenient time to talk. Thanks.

There could be this 0.01% chance that he wanna tell me we both won a trip to the Bahamas, or maybe a 4D3N Las Vegas stay, but I'd say mostly probably it's gonna be about religion. Give him a chance you say? But personally, I'll risk even sharing a million dollars with him than to get into another conversation of his nature. I've already told him (and other likeminded fellows who approach me), that I'm at the point in my life where I don't need and don't want to be involved in a religion. Who knows what happens next. Maybe I'll venture into Buddhism, which is my religion by default, or Christianity, or Islam, or some cult. Right now I don't think so. But I never know. So why rush? Will more Christians in this world make it a better place? No offense again, but I don't think so. I think that if people give up their seats to the old, move their butts to the back of buses instead of clogging up the entrance, let mrt passengers off before boarding, not to spit and litter, etccccccccccc. Now that will make the world a better place. At least in Singapore.

I've made up my mind today that I'm gonna ignore El. Not gonna pick up his calls or reply his smses. I think he will give up trying after today. I hope so. Meeting him in school will be real awkward after that but that will have to be my choice of action now.

~
Away with the not so happy stuff~~

Princess P is on her way over as I write... =D
First she has to drop by a nokia shop 'cos she has some problems about her new phone. It's nokia 3230, I think. Wah I didn't even know handphones can listen to MP3! Hers has radio function too. And her camera's 1.3megapixels. She really likes her phone. =)

Can't wait to see her!!!! =) =) =) =)

Those who are at home, don't stare at the screen too long! Bad for eyes!

Those who're at work and reading this, OMG you're my idol! I will pay you 10cents for thinking of me and coming to this site, and risking getting fired. Work hard ok!

Have a nice monday, everyone!

More food. And drinks.

First of all soccer this morning was terrible. I only slept for 2+ hours and I was very tired throughout the game. Not to mention poor team work and my team got thrashed. Scouser WHO SHOULD BE READING THIS is the best pilot in the world because he fly aeroplane again. Waste my sms and dial out time telling him to come. Which he replied he would!

Side joke. We were 3-0 down and we were calling out his name on the field. Because he's a Liverpool fan, and as you all know it, Liverpool were 3-0 down at halftime to win the champions league final last week.

So I got back home and watched the last quarter of the NBA conference finals, and Suns lost to Spurs... =( =(
They're now 3-0 down and need to win all 4 remaining games to go through...........noooo....

Slept at noon and woke at 2+pm. My mentee called me asking me if I had job lobang. -_-
And then dilly dally-ed a little and went off to Princess P's, and subsequently to expo again.
And by the way, we each spent $10 on mrt/bus fees since Friday. Unbelievable.

MPH warehouse sale was a tad messy. Understandably. We didn't find anything we truly wanted, not that we searched very hard. The queue to pay up was as long as.... aiyah very long lah.

Because Pricess P and I didn't really eat that much the last time, and she wanted to try so much stuff today, we then headed back to the food fair to 杀!杀!杀! ie kill kill kill! ie the stupid things you shout when you do your bayonet fighting. ie during BMT training. ie when you serve your ns. ie that's like 4 years ago. ie I'm friggin old. ie I don't think ie is used this way. ie you think I care?

We annihilated the following products, in non-chronological order:
durian crisp - yucks
hotplate hor fun - like those jap pizza sold outside. Yummy.
soya bean ice cream - again.
4 tako balls - pretty nice
pearl shells - I think is scallop. not bad.
cheese hotdog and fries - normal
mango soya bean drink - ok lah.

That's dinner in contemporary Singapore, ladies and gentlemen.

Then we went to buy 9 packets of unicurd, and a big bottle of soya bean drink. I'll try to take some pics of it later so you guys can check it out at supermarkets. There was also an exhibition at the hall beside, due to this being national family week (is it? I don't know). I bought 3 1litres bottles of Cranberry Juice for $6. Mum bought a bottle of more expensive brand the last time. She said cranberry juice is good for health. I also bought 3 big bottles of Gatorade for $3. Wah I feel like an Auntie. Poor Princess P had to help me carry the lighter bags...

Inside we bought strawberry trifle. Pudding with strawberry mix and fruits. A big cup for $2.80 normally, but 'cos it was late they gave us one free. So it was really worth it. And we were really full.

So that's another amazing trip to the expo. I think the next time I'll be there is during the computer fair in about a week's time. Oh and we saw Jamie Teo and Chen Hanwei at the food fair. They were hosting a games segment on the centre stage. Yesterday at Orchard road we saw Fiona xie and the ex man hunt singapore who acted as the 3rd cop in Heartlanders. Whatever the name. I haven't seen celebrities in real for quite some time now.

Today's crowd at the expo was really worse than a packed can of sardines. But kudos to the organisors for maintaining the ventilation and air conditioning well, so it was not so stuffy or breathless inside.

Singapore's great. They have huge halls like the ones in expo. Where they're so multi-purposeful. I don't remember when they were built. But it's a good thing we did.
I love Singapore.

Big Brother, yoohoo hello anyone are you watching? My sense of patriotism is for all to see. So just hand me 2 tickets to this year's ndp ok?

Ballot your tics here. This year they separate the balloting. You can choose whether you want the tickets or just the coupons to redeem the funpack.

EVERYONE GO BALLOT SOON OK. Even if you don't want them you can give them to people who want them. Like me.
Or. Sell them at Ebay.
No. No or. Sorry. No or.

***end of transmission***

Inspiring talk.

By Mr Peter Tan, some lecturer in NTU and Prudential manager.

Princess P got called up to attend this seminar, and I tagged along. At Amara Hotel near Tanjong Pagar Mrt station. We didn't know what the seminar was about, and upon reaching there was told that it was a fina-preneurship seminar. As in financial entrepreneurship. He earns at least S$1 million a year. Well we were told to sign declaration forms saying that we cannot write down whatever in print and we couldn't take down notes whatsoever. Actually I don't really understand the declaration but since it says I'm liable up to S$50,000 worth of lawsuit charges I wouldn't say much. Just that it was about how we should earn more money so that our loved ones (if not ourselves) can benefit from it etc. And he told us many stories. Very inspiring.

We also got a free movie pass each. All particpants did. Oh yeah!

Second part of the seminar was the part where we realised he was in the Prudential network. He started this peter tan and associates thingy. And he guaranteed those who made it pass the boot camp and remain with him after 24months, will earn S$100,000 per year. Of course the selection is tough etc. Something like 60% pass the camp and then a further % will fall out within the 2 years. I talked to the advisors and they said they don't get sacked. I also found out a lot more of this field. They tried to persuade me to go for the 2day 1 night camp. It costs $50 for food and lodgings, and if I fail the camp i get a refund. Camp dates are tomorrow and monday, next sunday and monday. I hesitated for a long time before rejecting them. Got his namecard though. Doubt I'll call him any time soon.

I believe I'm pretty much at the crossroad of my life. Only a year left before I graduate. That scheme allows undergrads to learn about this field, and they are given free training. Which means when I grad I get a head start should I carve this as my career. The advisors told me to go for the camp to discover myself (cliche line hor hahaha). But I can't bring myself to do it lah, 'cos I'm not THAT interested in this finance and business and marketing and insurance and planning and money matters.

*Snaps fingers*

Ok wake up liao lah. I'll now move on to after the seminar. Princess P bought a new phone, and I chipped in half the money, 'cos the P in Princess P stands for poor sometimes. =x

Tired day. Rarely have I been out from 1pm till 10pm. Soccer tomorrow morning. And in the afternoon it's MPH and food fair. Can't wait to buy the unicurd again. Really!

Food glorious food.

Today, Princess P and I went to the Food festival at Expo.

So shall post a little mini review. I know. How can a food review be a food review without pictures?!?!!??!!??! Too bad lor.... paiseh lah.. don't salivate over your keyboard hor...

It was really crowded! And we thought it's a weekday today so it wouldn't be so bad. I foresee the weekend to be worse. But it's a nice experience. It's also free. Only turn off is that it's held at expo. Which means after I got off from the mrt, my seat was probably on fire. And ouch my butt....

Things we bought:
Unicurd (extreme left side) 50cents one big packet. 4 flavours. Princess P and I tried mango and almond. DELICIOUS! Wanted to buy some on the way back but the person said can't last for long 'cos it needs to be refrigerated quickly. Will buy on Sunday. There's a MPH warehouse sale this weekend at Expo (20-80% off) and we're checking it out. The soya bean drink is only 50cents too for 300ml. There's big bottles available.

Potato. Some potato powder which will turn into mash potato upon adding hot water. Sold outside also lah. No biggie.

Soya bean ice cream from Mr bean. Stall right at the back row. Wah we didn't even know they sold ice cream. Really nice!!! I love soya bean stuff man! She bought the $1.20 cone. The $1.50 cup is more worth it though 'cos it has more ice cream I think.

1 x soft boiled egg. Princess P got attracted by the new kind of egg with whatever carrot or whatever stuff inside. First time I saw people crack the soft boiled egg fromt he top and you eat it straight as if from a cup. And also first time I realise people add pepper on the soft boiled egg. Princess P said those from hawker centre are all lidat wan mah. I suaku.... =(

Chicken hotdog and mushrooms covered with cheesy dip. This was really yummy too. I think it's $2. Three small hotdogs and plenty of mushrooms. The dip's a winner.

I think that's it. We didn't buy much lah. Princess P just tried to eat most of the samples. There were all sorts of seafood stuff like lobsters and prawns. Drinks. Bee hoon, mee, mee sua, noodles. So many, all stated in the website.

Can't wait to be back on Sunday to get my unicurd!!!! It's so goooooooodd......

Gerald looks up into the sky.

That's a lot of clouds. He thought to himself.

Gerald likes to draw. But he doesn't draw very well. Still, he takes out his trusty pen and notepad and scribbles the image he sees.

Mrs Tuttlestein walks past and stares at the picture.

What are those V-like shapes, Gerald?

Those are birds, Mrs Tuttlestein.

Ohh. That's a nice picture, Gerald.

Thank you, Mrs Tuttlestein.

Nanny-1101 exam question:
Write a totally boring essay about an unforgettable experience in which you were the nanny. Remember, it's depicting the unforgettable moments as boringly as you can that counts.

minimum word length: 3000 words.

Name: Trent

Essay title:

3 day 1 night chalet @ PP Palace.

I wanna remember everything so I’ll be filling in more details than usual for this entry. Which means you need a cup of coffee beside you.

Princess P and I spent Saturday resting at our own homes. Totally boring. But while I merely had headaches she was developing a fever and a case of bad diarrhea due to food poisoning. She thinks it’s the sucky overcooked pearls she ate in the bubble tea drink.

Oh yah stupid spectacles shop. The specs aren’t ready yet. They said they will call lah.

Played football on Sunday and after showering, left for Princess P’s palace. Her parents were out on holiday and her mum told me to go over to take care of her and her siblings. I’d have done so even if her mum didn’t tell me. So I called them and asked them what they wanted for lunch. We had duck rice while Princess P had 板面 (ban mian). That was on Sunday 1pm.

After that, I cleared up the dishes and we chatted a little. Then Princess P went to bed. Hmm.. I can’t remember where her lil sis was. Her brother also went to sleep. He walked out of his room looking for his siblings but seeing Princess P asleep, he asked me if I can do him a favour.

Me: Yah what?Him: I gonna go take a short nap now. Can wake me up at 430pm?
Me: Ok can.

That was 4pm. Haha I felt like a maid. =x No lah I felt like a big part of the family. That 10second conversation also made me stay awake because it was a hot afternoon and after my morning football session I was so tired and was dozing off in front of the tv but now there’s something to do till 430pm at least: to stay awake.

And then later on at about 5pm I drove them out to buy dinner back. Her brother wanted fish soup with rice. Lil sis got KFC and the brother saw the kfc label when we got home and was asking us why didn’t we tell him we were going to KFC’s. Hah. Sounds just like my family last time. Me and my own brother….. Princess P felt worse after going out. On hindsight she really should have stayed home, but she said she was feeling ok! I should have forced her to stay home.

Her brother was also preparing to book in to Tekong and he was slightly late, despite my efforts to fetch him to the meeting point where the car pool will bring him over. He thanked me as he got off the car. I felt like a chauffeur. No lah I felt like a big part of the family. (eh sounds familiar.. ohh I used this line 2 paragraphs back…)

Princess P, lil sis and I spent Sunday night trying to get playstation (ps1 not ps2) to work, and according to them it was a miracle. We played bishi bashi until about 9pm and it was time for Princess P to take her medicine. Wow I’ve never seen anyone take so much time just to swallow 3-4 pills. Sure the pills are bitter, but just swallow them!!!! She sits on the chair with this big glass of water, waiting, waiting, waiting, as if waiting for the exact prosperous time then can pop it in her mouth. I drove home knowing she was tired and will go to sleep after I leave.

~Monday

Woke up only at 650am. I was right to have left a note on the dinning table the night before telling them to wake me up if I wasn’t up by 630. I wasn’t. And I woke up from the knockings on my door. I told her I’d reach her house at 7am! Her lil sis was going to school and I thought I better go accompany her in the morning anyway. But I woke up late so I called her (she was up to take her medicine) and she said I didn’t have to rush down. Took bus and mrt and reached at 825. Another reason why I wanted to be there early was because Princess P was told that the 4 year old girl (whom Princess P’s mother is the 保姆 bao mu for) will be coming over at 9+ so I thought a sick patient might need assistance to handle a 4 year old kid.

We were both tired. She ‘cos she was sick. Me ‘cos… I was just tired haha! We tried to catch up on sleep, and at about 950am the phone rang and it was Princess P’s best friend. And they talked about 1 hour. I was lying on the mattress in the living room. She sounded real upbeat and didn’t sound like a sick patient ley……

The 4 year old girl (I’ll call her TT) came only at 11! I went out to buy lunch. Princess P wanted 虾面 (prawn mee),but I bought 福建面 (hokkien mee) instead. I had carrot cake. Then I sent TT to her pre-school, just a few minutes’ walk away. I held her hand tightly because Princess P told me she falls down easily and I’ve to keep watch on her carefully. TT was smiling all the way and we chatted whatever we could as we walked hand in hand to the school.

TT: *pointing to the school* eh? 那里没有人 leh!
Me: 哪里?
TT: hee 骗你的!

~
TT: 如果讲骗话, 鼻子会长!
Me:对lor, 等一下你mama 问你为什么你的鼻子长。。。
TT: 我说因为你讲骗话lor! *points at me*
Me: 我没有!是你hor!
TT: 是你!!!

At the school I told her I’ll pick her up at 5pm and she nodded her head.
Went back and watched VCD with Princess P.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
About the prostitution scene in Hong Kong, starred by Sandra Ng (Wu Jun Ru) who bagged the best actress award for it I think.

The show started off boringly, and it was lame and perhaps we didn’t really know the prostitution scene in Hong Kong (or in anywhere for that matter), so it didn’t really strike us. And I got a lil’ upset when Princess P said she has effectively finished watching the movie after Andy Lau her favourite actor of alllllllllllllllllllllll time put on a 5minute cameo at the front part of the show. I began to lose interest in the show and maybe also because I was tired I closed my eyes. She didn’t wanna watch anymore and we stopped.

We put on the next vcd, Elephant..

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

“It’s a beautiful fall day, and golden leaves skitter ahead of the wind across green lawns. Walking through the park on his way to class, Eli persuades a punk-rock couple to pose for some photographs. Nate finishes football practice and goes to meet his girlfriend Carrie for lunch. John leaves his dad’s car keys in the school office for his brother to pick up. In the cafeteria, Brittany, Jordan and Nicole gossip and complain about their mothers’ snooping. Michelle dashes to the library, while Eli snaps some photos of John in the hallway. John walks out onto the lawn, crossing paths with Alex and Eric.”

It was about the ordinary day in an American high school. It’s about the daily observations and participation in school and amongst students. Not much of a dialogue at times; more of camera filming the students walking about the school premises. And all these eventually ended up with a highschool shooting, in remembrance of the Columbine shooting and other American shootings.

It was more of an arty farty film, and Princess P failed to appreciate that, and kept slamming the film, much to my dismay. =(

Princess P did though; try to make some sense of the title Elephant. She said it was because the 2 shooters were like an Elephant, tame when unprovoked, but when antagonised become really fierce, like an Elephant. I thought it sounds logical. But apparently the real meaning behind the name was this:

"One film in particular served as a touchstone for Van Sant in making a film dealing with the highly charged subject of school violence: a much-admired 1989 BBC work by the late British filmmaker Alan Clarke, also titled Elephant. Clarke’s Elephant strips away narrative to depict Northern Ireland’s sectarian violence as a relentless, anonymous march of murders. Clarke titled his film after the mordant saying about a problem that is as easy to ignore as an elephant in the living room. Van Sant decided to title his film after Clarke’s work, noting "This film was formed around the lives of kids who exist in a different, but also especially violent period in time." Initially, Van Sant thought Clarke’s title referred to the ancient parable of the blind men and the elephant. In the story, a version of which appears in Buddhist canons dated 2 B.C., several blind men examine different parts of an elephant – ear, leg, tail, trunk, tusk, etc. Each blind man is firmly convinced that he understands the true nature of the animal, based on that one part he felt – that the elephant is like a fan, or a tree, or a rope, or a snake or a spear. But none sees the whole. For Van Sant, the parable’s theme seemed apt in the context of school shootings. "I assumed Alan Clarke called his film Elephant because it was about a problem that was hard to identify, because of different ways of looking at it," he says. "That was what I thought for a long time, until I read a quote where Clarke said that it was the elephant in the living room. But for us, when were making our film, it was more about the blind men."

So it’s actually 盲人摸象!

We didn’t get the chance to watch finish the show, because Princess P’s tuition kid came over early. (last minute tuition for exam on Tuesday, so bobian she sick also must give tuition) I spent some time talking to lil sis, and then it’s time to fetch TT back from her school. Lil sis went to fetch her while I bought dinner. Chicken rice for all.

Back home, lil sis taught TT how to add numbers, and Princess P was still giving tuition. I was just bumming around observing. After dinner, we watched tv and somehow managed to get the playstation to work again, and played some bishi bashi again. The other games just fail to start. Lil sis went to watch the new channel 8 show at 9pm about some supernatural cop starring Edmund Chen. I stayed in the room to continue the game. TT said she wanted to watch me play. Yay haha she likes me. =D Princess P was tired and went to sleep at about 9pm. I woke her up at 10pm to watch desperate housewives. I was real happy that she laughed a lot while watching. I considered for awhile and decided to stay over that night. Going home to sleep and coming back in the morning didn’t serve much of a purpose. The interesting point was, her mum already EXPECTED me to stay over when she asked me to come over these few days. She had prepared 2 towels for me.

We all went to be before the clock struck midnight. Princess P and I talked awhile (my mattress was just adjacently below hers, until we both got tired and fell asleep.

~Tuesday

The next morning Princess P said she looked at me while I slept, and was intrigued by why I clenched both my fists for some time. As if I was holding on to a big baseball bat preparing to hit anyone.

I don’t know. I’ve no idea. Don’t mess with me. =p

We officially woke around 10am. Same old routine stuff. I went to buy lunch and an egg tart for TT’s recess break while Princess P bathed TT tied her hair in pony tails. Lunch was the CORRECT 虾面 for them. I wasn’t hungry and bought some bread. It was raining that day and TT was dressed in a pink raincoat. TT said the raincoat was very 可爱。Heh.

I held her small little hand and walked her to school. Once we stepped out into the rain (slight drizzle) she was smiling with joy.

TT: 你看我的头滴不到!(meaning: the raindrops can’t fall on my head)

(That’s because there was a hood pulling over her head.)

On the way the winds blew and her hood kept coming off. She kept laughing saying 掉了!and I told her to hold on to the hood then. Apparently the hood was too big and it kept getting blown off. She reacted each time by shouting
又来!Once in the shelter she stripped off her raincoat and handed it to me

=)

Back home again. Princess P and I watched Lost In Translation.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Starring Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray, about two strangers meeting in Japan. I fell asleep during disc 2. Haha! It was a pretty slow film, but Princess P laughed very loudly during a scene when a Japanese woman went into Bill’s room and asked him to rip off her stockings, and kept shouting like an SM fetish. =x

Scene: Woman on the floor. Bill standing beside her.

Woman (pulling Bill’s arms such that Bill is controlling to refrain himself from falling over): Let me go! Let me go!
Bill (disgusted and tries to release himself from woman): with pleasure.Woman (continues to grab onto man): let me go let me go!

Stupid. Hahahahaha.

Picked up TT at the school. She was already waiting at the door with the teacher. The teacher looked at me and smiled. I thought she’d ask who I was since I was a stranger. TT called me ‘korkor’ immediately when she saw me and rushed over to hold my hand. Hee. =D

On the way back I asked her she said if the egg tart was nice, and she said 很好吃!我吃到完!

But when we got home, TT got scolded real bad from Princess P. TT had scratched off the layer of healing skin (whatever do you call that?) from her cut on her ankle and because she tends to bleed too much too easily, Princess P got worried. At least that’s what I think it was when she took the cane and shouted at TT. Sometimes I get upset that when I’m over at her place, she’s really stern to her siblings, but I guess afterall she’s the eldest child, the big sister in the family and she’s gotta do what she’s gotta do. I’ll try to be in her shoes and understand her point of view.

Princess P said I’m very easy to bully that’s why TT likes me. Haha! And she said that’s why she herself 能把我给骗到手! O.o

I was supposed to leave at about 7pm because the vcds were due to return by that day, but lil sis kept pestering us to play dai dee (she did so the previous night). Before that she wanted to play mahjong but I said I don’t’ know how to play and she didn’t believe. Huh. I also got to read some parts of this mysterious book written by Princess P, and got somewhat upset, which was really foolish. When playing cards they began to watch this stupid 古装戏, and nobody talked anymore.
So I purposely commented in jest:

Me: TT ah, 你看她们不管我们了。她们只要看电视,不跟我们讲话了。。。
TT (rolling on bed playing with pillow): 不用紧 还有我吗!

=)

Went off to do our separate chores at about 8pm. Then talked to Princess P in the living room. Lil sis came wanting to play dai dee again. We played till her parents came home which was about 950pm.

That was when we all got into the kitchen, then Princess P’s room listening to her mum (and dad, but mostly mum) telling us allllllll the stories about their trip to Genting. The food, the ‘ghostly’ experiences, the casinos, the overall place and how we should go look see look see, until it was 11+ and I had to leave. Her mum thanked me and got me a bag of goodies from their trip.

I left with super duper 依依不舍的心情。

~Wednesday (today)
Princess P smsed me that TT had told her mum that she doesn’t want mama to bring her to school. She wants me! HAHAHAHA. =D *poses with peace sign* yeah.

Gosh I miss them so much. I went home last night to my own empty, lifeless room. It sucks.

I ate lunch just now by myself. It sucks.

I’m gonna spend everyday and night by myself. Watching television by myself.

TT was always around treating me like a pillow. And then running everywhere I went, hugging my legs from behind.

Princess P’s mum said I can actually go stay over if I want, since her brother’s at Tekong on weekdays and the bed is empty. But I think it’s really very paiseh. How to explain what is paiseh ah? Embarassing? No. Uncomfortable? No. And especially so if her parents are at home. I mean I wouldn’t be able to just lie in the middle of the living room when her mum (a housewife) is home, can I?

But I tell only myself that one thing is for sure.

They’re my family. I love my family.

And I now miss my family. =(

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to obedience and warmth.
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.
You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was insecure and in constant need of reassurance.
Your ideal relationship is comforting. You crave a relationship where you always feel warmth and love.
Your risk of cheating is low. Even if you're tempted, you'd try hard not to do it.
You think of marriage pessimistically. You don't think happy marriages exist anymore.
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

What are the keys to your heart?

Boring quiz.

Speaking of which, I'm not sure if I mentioned that I've always heard of this keys to heart phrase, especially since when young singing Boyzone's key to my heart song. That's when I link 'keys' to 'hearts'. But it's only this last year that I realised that people usually celebrate their 21st birthdays with cakes in the shape of keys, 'cos the age signifies a milestone where you get a key to the adult world or whatever. *yawn* Boring.

Last night Princess P and I watched >>>

HOUSE OF FURY

Not very exciting. Not much of a plot. Fighting scenes long and draggy. Charlene twin (left pic) didn't even appear much and I don't even recall her fighting. Anthony wong (middle) is the best! Funniest! Daniel Wu (right) played a wuss (no pun intended).

That was yesterday's news. Today I went over to Princess Palace and had dinner. Princess P is sick! With a mild fever. I'm also experiencing headaches these few days, and my right temple hurts sometimes, especially when I open my jaw wide. Gotta sleep early!

So Friday the 13th is ending. Anybody any unlucky stuff to share? Haha so old liao still talking about this. So childish.

Loving you

-minnie ripperton

Loving you
Is easy because you're beautiful....
Making love with you
Is all I want to do....
Loving you
Is more than just a dream come true....
And everything that I do
Is out of loving you....

No one else can make me feel
The colors that you bring....
Stay with me while we grow old....
And we will live each day in spring time....

Because loving you....
Has made my life so beautiful....
And every day of my life
Is filled with loving you....
Loving you....I see your soul come shining through....
And everytime that we....Oh
I'm more in love with you....

One of my favourite songs, which is also found in Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason Movie Soundtrack.

And here's a funny clip, about why women stay single.

Here is a perfect example of your everyday man
and a reason why women choose to stay single.

If you're hearing the song for the first time, then it's pretty distasteful, but serves you right for not having heard the song before!

Anyone who wants the song come find me. =)

House Of Wax

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Just back from watching this show with Princess P and her good friends. It's really good! Nice! Got kick! Worth a watch!! About some stranded kids landing in a weird town with a house of wax.

Time for another recap of what has happened to my puny little life since the end of the exams.

Friday Princess P came over and we watched 2 vcds.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I DO I DO.

About the marriage and baby problems in Singapore. Pretty funny.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
How to lose a guy in 10 days.

Terrible. Not even worth telling about. Plot sucks. Not really funny.

Saturday.
Went for a mentor-mentee gathering. A bbq. Very nicely bbq-ed hot dogs, crab sticks and my favourite for the night crispy nuggets!! Played catching, talked to everyone. Nice time.

Sunday.
Played soccer and was the victim of many bad tackles. Princess P said I deserved it. I felt very depressed over this. Evening went out to celebrate Mothers' Day. Ate at some Peranakan Restaurant called Ivins Ivins or something, opposite King Albert Park /MGS. Service was terrible. Food served in small amounts though it tasted ok. Not recommended though.

Monday.
Nothing doing.

Tuesday today:
As mentioned went for that movie. Also bought a new pair of spectacles. Have been wearing contact lens too often and I'm afraid it might damage my eyes. And my last proper pair was during JC and Princess P said it was very old fashioned. =( So got a new one. $79. Collect on friday.

A little past midnight. Gonna wait for 3am to watch man utd vs chelsea. A lil' tired, if you sense from my tone. Maybe a little crestfallen too.

Calm seas again.

Relieved. =D

As we put that behind us, and also note that I just finished my friggin exams for this semester, let us ponder upon the next million dollar question:

To sign up or not sign up?

FREE XBOX.

Picture on the right.

So if I simply sign on my current plan for 2 more years, I get the free xbox and controller!!

Points to note:

  • xbox original games are expensive at about $60 per piece
  • I can modify the xbox such that it's applicable for pirated games. My friend said he has a contact and will cost $50.
  • Pirated games are rarely (if ever) sold in S'pore. Mostly bought from JB. Troublesome, but can buy many at one go and they're cheap. (not sure about getting through customs haha)
  • I can sell off the xbox and earn maybe $200-250? Need help again 'cos I've never sold anything online on ebay or anywhere else before.
  • Keep the xbox, do not mod it. Take back my original fifa 2004 from my brother (who has an unmodded xbox with original games. Rich man.) or maybe buy winning xi or some dumb game to play by myself, since I can't really play those shooting games because I will get motion sickness. I will have to borrow original games from people...

How? Must decide before 16th may.....

It is a time like this that I wish I'd be struck by lightning, hit by a car, or bitten by a dog, so I'd get into hospital and everyone will come visit me and treat me well and people who used to hate me will no longer do and people who are related to me argue will stop and unite and people who think I'm stupid and useless will think that I'm a significant being.

But of course if it happens, I hope to recover well and not for example lose a leg or lose whatever intelligence I have, or even my flaws. After you guys have visited me, our lives can go back to normal again.

Of course, this is an insensitive post, because have I considered about the feelings of those or those kins of those who have indeed been struck by lighting or hit by a car? Yes. But I don't care. I think lying in the hospital will be great. Everyone comes in everyday, bringing you your favourite food, talking nicely to you, telling you everything is alright, that you'll be ok and grow up to be fine, that you don't have to worry about anything.

But I'm not in hospital. I'm at home.

Still, give me some sympathy, quick.

Liverpool won Chelsea!

And they're in the final at Istanbul!
Slept at 1230am and I woke up at 230am this morning to watch it. Glad I did. And now I finally can comprehend how liverpool fans feel when they play. I think they've all bought heart attack insurance. Score early goal. Sit back relax. 2nd half worse. Can't even get the ball. But well Benitez's tactics paid off and a win's a win.

Did the ball go in?

Went to bed again at 530 and woke 2 hours later. My exam's at 9am. But this paper was an ok one and it was open book too, and I was well prepared already. So the paper indeed was ok which means.......... I've one more exam left tomorrow! 5pm.

I'll leave you with Trendy Trent's eating house's latest menu.

Set A:

That's scrambled eggs by the way. HAHAHA.

Go on. Laugh. Someday I'll be able to cook for my wife and you all will be so jealous. =p

I'm sweating.

Ok before some smartypants come up and say "We don't sweat. We perspire. Pigs sweat."

You've got it wrong, and let me teach you here, that pigs don't sweat. Pigs can't sweat. They have no sweat glands. They roll in the mud to cool off.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

And sweating is perspiring. They're not called perspiration glands. Why do people say that we don't sweat? Smart alecs.

Well back to the topic. Just had my brunch and it wasn't so pleasant. Last week, I made egg bread (or the nicer sounding french toast) and as you all know how messed up my kitchen was, I took quite some time to find what I thought was sugar. And yes, in the end, it was salt.

Yucks. Salted egg bread. Salted egg. Yucks to the max. It was a terrible meal.

And just now, I ate the wu xiang mi fen (bee hoon), and added the chilli sauce thinking it was the sweet sauce. Argh should have paid more attention to the colour. So there you go, it was alright, except that it was very spicy. And I can't take chilli.

It's a public holiday today! Not that it matters to me of course. Woke up late and I didn't know Back to the Future was showing, so I only caught the last bit. Yeah. The other time the pasar malam was selling part1,2,3 for $5 each and I didn't buy them. I'll be sure to buy them the next time. Next paper's on Wednesday, and I end on Thursday, and then.... I'll see what I'll do.

That most dreaded paper of my semester was over last saturday. The compulsory question was alright. In section B I had to choose 2 out of 5. And I've no idea how to do 2 of them so I was left with 3. 1 I could do, the remaining 2 I didn't have much of a clue either. So I chose the one which I believed I could smoke more. Hah. But I think I'll pass. Guess that's good enough.

Then I met Princess P and we went swimming. Or rather bumming in the pool. Wow it was so long ago since I got into the water. And underwater, we could hear music from a local radio station. So weird. Nobody was listening to radio nearby ley. Anyone any explanation? And then my mum gave me $50 so that we could go have a nice dinner. And we ordered too much for us to finish. So that was saturday.

And that's the more important things that have happened in my life these days.

I know. You'll probably say this.

So I'll leave you with

I'm off to study again.

Spot The Fake Smile

You got 13 out of 20 correct.

TRY IT HERE.

Most people are surprisingly bad at spotting fake smiles. One possible explanation for this is that it may be easier for people to get along if they don't always know what others are really feeling.
Although fake smiles often look very similar to genuine smiles, they are actually slightly different, because they are brought about by different muscles, which are controlled by different parts of the brain.

Damn. I thought I'd have done better, after believing how good I am at reading people. I blame it on the clock and hence my tiredness! =p
