Howdy.
Why, it's only a couple of weeks since I last wrote. Because as you guys know, we had a term break. That's right. That's when the term goes for a break, but for us undergraduates, it's a time for us to catch up with our work. I had so much work to do, especially for my SS project which I hereby thank anyone who helped me in my survey. Let me share the some wonderful stories of my university.
NUS is full of cute students.
You see, the deadline of the assignment was monday 28th Feb 05. Some cute little cuddly wuddly undergraduates (please tell me it's a freshie) went to email him this:
Dear sir, you mentioned that submissions that arrive within 3 days of the dateline will drop one grade. Is 25/02/05 counted?
and this:
Dear sir, with regards to the submission of our term assignment, if we hand it in tomorrow, 25/02/05, will there will a lowering of grade?
Isn't it amusing?
Here's what the prof replied:
hello. go read the original instructions. the deadline is 28 Feb.
EARLIER SUBMISSIONS ARE ENCOURAGED.
grades will ONLY BE DEDUCTED FOR LATE SUBMISSIONS!!!
3 DAYS LATE ONE GRADE
7 DAYS LATE 2 GRADES
WHO EVER PENALIZES PEOPLE FOR SUBMITTING EARLY?????????????

Why are people so dumb? I mean cute. Yeah, cute.
Here's an even better one!! Wooo I love NUS, for all the interesting people I see.
Dear Sir,
i have finished my report and the references section ( individual work ). however, i am not sure and i'm afraid that my work is not up to standard. please please comment and advice me on my work. i will do the corrections over the weekend, and will be able to hand it in to you on time on Monday. my word count is 2015. i'm sorry to trouble you again.

I hate these people. They're either really dumb, or really smart. I hope they get blacklisted. I can't imagine dealing with all these stupid emails. Then again I'm not a Professor. If anyone's a professor reading this, thank you for tolerating with dweebs like us.
BBQ:
Went with Princess P to her friends' BBQ at west coast park. Real nice. And I learnt how to mount a unicycle! Albeit with the help of a tree as my support.
Malay reception:
Attended a malay mentee's birthday. The food was great: ketupat, longtong, chicken wings, sweet curry puffs. We sang karaoke and played upwords and poker cards. Only thing weird was her gathering consisted of people like us, the older mentors. It seems like she doesn't have many friends of the same age.
Hide and Seek:
I think it's a superb show. While watching it I likened it to Scream.Not so in terms of the killings and slashing of course, but in suspense. You just can't wait for the story to unfold, and Robert De Niro and Dakota Fanning (She's only 10 years young!) give ravishing performances.
Injured:
Oh I'm also in the process of recovering after my horrific knee injury on Sunday morning football. Not so horrific actually. I just had difficulties walking and especially so when climbing up and down the staircase. I thought for long and had many discussions as to whether I was going to see a Doctor, and take an xray. I told people that it would recover by itself and someone told me don't be an idiot I'm not wolverine. But it always just takes me a few days to heal. I get injured very easily, just like the countless number of ankle sprains I've encountered, but I also heal very fast. I know. My body's probably broken internally. I should stop all these physical sports. Sigh. Anyway, on Monday night I said "I can feel that it's getting better." so I didn't go to a doctor, and it is improving by the day. And in a few days' time I'll start to go for walks and slow jogs and I'll be all good.
I can't remember what else now. It's friday morning and I don't have school. I should start on my assignment due in 2 weeks. Somehow I feel excited about the release of the 'A' Levels results later in the day. Princess P's brother is a recipient. Hope he pulls through. I'm meeting her later at night to watch Hitch. Hope it's a celebration. =)
