那天在马路上
就是我们幸福的开始

And you realised it's 16days into 2005.

And that's like 349 days into 2006.

Scary.

No really. It's so intimidating. This time thingy. Incidentally I remember writing this 'thingy' word in one of my GP essays and got screwed. That was 4-5 years back. I think it's time Merriam-Webster should update a little. Was saying, that time really catches us offguard sometimes. QUICK BONUS QUESTION: Without checking back, how many times have I typed 'time' in this paragraph. Ahh ok ok I'll start this entry properly.

Mooshi mooshi.

Hey what do ya know, it's 2 weeks passed just like that. I figure I must blog again else I'll forget how to write. Let's start with everyone's favourite topic: school. Ooh yeah. My #18 ranked University in the world. I've gotten all my 5modules I wanted this semester. Tutorial balloting starts tomorrow (monday) and if I get what I want, I'll have a pretty good weekly week (trent talk: weekly week) lined up. So this choosing of modules pretty much covered the first week. Second week was the first week of school. Am I confusing you my young padawan? On my first day I went to the central co-op to find the lady cashier whom I talked to everytime but she wasn't there that day. The week's great. Lectures are okay. Haven't bought any textbooks or course packs (not yet released) yet though. Week 2's coming and it's time to pay more attention to my studies now. Played soccer with the usual gang just this morning and some of my Engine Faculty friends are already talking about doing tutorials. They have hectic lives. I'll have to make better use of my time, since I seem to be more free than everyone else.

Mentoring has been even better. Met them for the past two weeks, and we did resolutions for the first session, and I discussed 'family' with my two mentees last week. I can see that they are growing up. I was also delighted that the mentees said hi or gestured at me when they noticed my presence in their canteen, and the mentees' friends came up and talked to me too.

I mentioned I've made more friends throughout this mentoring journey. I'm sure everyone reading now will be happy for me. I have more people to talk to on msn, and they are all nice people. Obviously. People who volunteer to be mentors are nice people. Which also means I've taken a trip round the mulberry bush to praise myself that I'm nice.

Hehe.

Last night, I went for the afterglow meet up with my fellow camp screw. The camp held in Sentosa last month, remember? The one where I saw more peacocks than bikini babes. Not many turned up, but in the end I guess it was just the right crowd since we all could occupy the tables comfortably. I was pretty disappointed when the other 4 mentors from my school all decided not to go for the BBQ, and none mentioned it to me. Even if I was sure of going regardless of their attendances, wouldn't it have been polite to inform me that all of them have decided to ally and not go? Often I feel left out by them. Well ok back to happy stuff. The BBQ was great. I spent quite some time at the pit itself talking to my fellow chefs and barbequeing the food. We kept forgetting to flip the bread and about three of them got burnt. I also ate a lot of crab sticks (perks of being at the pit). One of the highlights was that someone went to heat up and melt some chocolate and we dipped marshmellow in it and ooooohhhh it was goooooooood.

This reminds me of a Simpsons Episode, Guess Who's Coming to Criticise Dinner.
It's one in which Homer Simpson becomes a food critic, and as we all know he can't write for nuts, Lisa was roped in to translate his comments onto paper, a review of at least 500 words.
Excerpt:

Homer: OK, what restaurant did we review?
Lisa: Well, we went to Pate LaBelle last week, how about that?
Homer: Great, now let me think. The food was ... [Homer tastes his food-stained shirt to remind himself of the restaurant] ... was not un-delicious
Lisa: [typing] The food is delicious.
Homer: Ooh! That's brilliant! And they had this sweet, sweet chocolate mousse. Really, the only word to describe it is [drools lustily].
Lisa: Hmm. What's the English equivalent for [imitates Homer]? I'd say ... transcendent.
Homer: How about groin-grabbingly transcendent?
Lisa: Uh ... I don't think so.
Homer: We make a good team. A groin-grabbingly good team! [... a little later ...]
Lisa: 497 ... 498 words.
Homer: How about screw Flanders!
Lisa: Bon Appetite!
Homer: Ah, they're both good.

Noticed the 'drools lustily'? It's actually Homer like this:

And then he makes this 'saliva gargling in his mouth' sorta sound. Oh man you gotta hear it.

And as I was saying, the chocolate dipped marshmellows were... transcendent.

The BBQ ended around 10pm. We took some group photos and departed. Some of us were thinking of whether to go KTV, at this Kbox outlet in Choa Chu Kang. We weren't in time for the 10pm-midnight slot, so we pondered over the 12-3am session. Being a spontaneous and fun loving person I always am enthusiastic to go places, especially since I was already outside. So we finally settled on the 12-3am slot. We chilled at the coffee bean outlet below for an hour, before we sang for three. We had a wonderful time, us 3 girls and 2 guys. And then the initial plan of supper was cancelled because they were too tired and decided to go home. So we shared a cab since we stay in the same area, and we came back, showered, and chatted online. We talked till 5am. And I fell asleep by the computer and woke up at 6am, and I climbed onto my bed for a couple of hours before I woke for the soccer game. That's right I'm a tired man right now. Well not really. And that was a very special saturday night.

Money out of my pocket, affection into my heart.
I guess that's a pretty good exchange.

Princess P had a birthday celebration at Pasir Ris last night, and I haven't seen her since friday. I wanted to watch Hotel Rwanda, but we weren't really in the mood for that. So we watched Seed Of Chucky that night, my first ever Chucky movie, and it's wonderfully hilarious, filled with American humour and not really a fright-fest kinda show. It now makes me wanna catch the earlier installments. I wanted to ask her over today so we could watch the 2nd leg of the Tiger Cup final (Incidentally if you're from Singapore or Indonesia and you don't know what I'm talking about then you should kick your left leg with your right leg now.) later, but she's not really free. I miss her. Haha. Ok no mushy stuff please.

Funny, but really, I'm not tired. Perhaps the power of writing has overwhelmed my overexerted senses. It's another long day in school tomorrow. And I need to cut my hair soon too. And another time before Chinese New Year, because it will be long again. Oh! Has anyone spared a thought for our hair?? It tries so hard to grow, and we cut it. It's like the old nintendo game where you're on board a ship and the pirates will climb ladders and you will go left and right to hit the pirates on their heads to stop them.

Ok right. I shall end. Go Singapore! Win the Tiger Cup! Hopefully this will spur the younger generation (ie the people who were babies during the malaysia cup days) to have some confidence in Singapore football.
