A week of memorable events

Wednesday: Science Centre
No matter where you go, the eyes just keep staring at you.
Scroll your mouse over.
I crashed another mentor's school outing at Science Centre, 'cos I knew all the mentors there and I was planning to go Science Centre soon anyway. We had a lot of fun! The planetgames section was pretty boring though. It was a showcase of old games, like some 10 years ago, which was why the mentors could identify with them while the mentees never heard of them before.

Thursday: Gift Exchange
Log cake for the birthday celebrations we missed.
Had a nice cozy gathering at a fellow mentor's place. We had a gift exchange and also a birthday celebration. It was very fun to meet up with my fellow mentors again, especially since we haven't (or I rather) been talking much.

Friday: Christmas eve with Princess P
Christmas tree at taka.
Past few days, I looked high and low but couldn't find a christmas gift for her. THEN I saw the most perfect present. But I found a little cat print on it. Princess P doesn't like cats. So the present wasn't perfect afterall. And you know these things, after finding one which you thought was so beautiful, somehow every other gift you see doesn't match up to your expectation anymore. So on thursday night I told her I didn't get a present for her due to this, and wah she got angry and sad. =p I went to buy my '2nd choice present' on christmas eve itself before reaching her house. Wanted to surprise her, but she called me while I was outside. Darn! Maybe nobody can understand my thinking of not wanting to buy any gift just to make up a present, but well I guess it IS christmas, and anybody who places this holiday with importance would expect a gift. Anyhoo eventually I got a gift so that's that. And she likes it in the end. =)

So we reached Orchard road around 5pm, had dinner, and then looked for her brother, who was working as a surveyor at a taxi stand. Both of us were planning to work too, but she was too tired these few days and we called it off. Pay rate was $10 per hour. Wow wee. Too bad though. And I think walking around is more fun. =)

She then thought there was a parade, but apparently it was at 10pm. We walked down to HMV and we took neoprints. We walked to Plaza Sing and on the way stopped at a food court to rest. At Plaza Sing we rested even longer, sitting at the steps and watching people walk by and there was a group of people who came caroling. I don't really feel a christmas mood, especially when the decorations are all so poor these days. I remember 10 years ago when Plaza Sing was still called YAOHAN the place was brilliantly set up with giant Snowman and everything Christmas. And hotels like Goodwood park? Scotts etc were all expensively decorated. Now? There are just lights, and one or two figurines.

We then took a train to city hall so we could count down at Esplanade. We stopped at the bay beside the huge Merlion. Managed to find a seat so two of us squeezed onto that small little space, and sat there. It was around 11pm. Some 'tourguide' beside us was telling two old women that there would be fireworks later. Princess P and I smirked at each other. Yah right fireworks. 2minutes before midnight (according to my watch haha) we stood by the railing and enjoyed the breezes in our faces. And we counted down with 10 seconds left (or rather she was counting and jumping about) and we wished each other merry christmas!

Yup, that was my first christmas countdown ever. I didn't know people countdown Christmas haha. Isn't it funny. Really enjoyable and memorable. Then as we enjoy each other's company after midnight, I remembered that we needed to catch the train back to Plaza Sing, because both of us don't know how to walk back there. Haha talk about a party pooper.

We had a small bite at Long John Silvers at Plaza Sing, and then went to collect our movie ticket. We were watching Meet the Fockers. Oh yeah I like Ben Stiller. Stupid Fella.
The Fockers.
Spent some time in the arcade, and then found ourselves sitting on the floor waiting for entrance. It was this time when Princess P felt a little sleepy. And we were betting who was gonna be the first one to 'faint' first. Haha.
The show was great! Of course! All lame shows are great! It's amusing to see Dustin Hoffman and Babara Streisand acting comedian roles.

It was 4am when the show ended. Princess P was very tired. Me? I'm still ok. And you know some people can't seem to think properly when they're tired. We walked back down Orchard Road, and finally found a nice seat outside Mariott Hotel. She refused to sleep but kept dozing off. It was then I celebrated Christmas by myself. Haha. We left the place for the train station and waited for the ride. On the train she went to sleep, and her head hit my nose once when she woke. But funny how she can't remember it now?!?!?! I walked her home and she was so tired she didn't say anything. I then took a cab back. That was close to 8am. And shower and sleep I went.

My very first Christmas celebration. My first with her too. =) My Christmas wish is to have her spend Christmas with me next year too. We'll see how it goes. Heh.

Merry Christmas everyone! Happy holidays!
